Copenhaguen, one of the plays that has received the greatest number of awards in recent years, is an example of theatre “of words” and “of reflection”. It is about the famous encounter in Copenhagen in 1941 between the physicists Niels Bohr and his former student Werner Heisenberg, who was in charge of the nuclear project ordered by Hitler. All sorts of suppositions exist about that mysterious meeting, at which both men lean over a technical abyss and an even bigger ethical abyss. Some believe it was decisive to  tilt the balance of the war in favour of the Allies, impeding the creation of the atomic bomb by the Germans.
