“Labrys is the double-edged axe with which the King and priestesses of Crete sacrificed the bull chosen to be offered to Poseidon, god of the sea. On the day of the sacrifice young dancers and acrobats of Crete enlivened the ceremony with dances around the beautiful horned animal. It is very likely that the term labyrinth comes from the word labrys: this is the context of this solo dance, which crosses the door from Prehistory to classical culture, leading us through this labyrinth with the force that drove civilisation to kill the beast it houses inside.”  Ángel en Danza
