Just as he is about to give his inaugural speech, a president-elect is faced with an unexpected problem: a grotesque nervous tic is about to ruin such a solemn occasion. A psychiatrist arrives to help him and an amusing and cutting dialectic battle ensues between the two.
What is each one hiding? What are their real motivations? What events of our lives mark our future, and above all, our vocation?
“I was always interested in knowing what motivates someone to become President of his country. A responsibility that most citizens would avoid. In addition to an ambition for power, or the legitimate desire to make the world a better place, I suspect that there are other motives that the candidate himself may ignore. Based on this premise I invented El electo, a comedy about a President who discovers, on the day of his inaugural speech, the real motives that have lead him to where he is.” Ramón Madaula
