Moving and surprising piece about Federico Garcia Lorca with 21st century sensitivity, as if he were here with us. With a lot of irony, emotivity and sense of humour, the play recalls his years at the Residencia de Estudiantes in Madrid, the reviews of his play Yerma, his experience at La Barraca, his relationship with the press, his loves, the tension of the last years of his life, leading us to issues considered from his poetic vision and position of advocacy, such as the role of women, the need for artistic freedom, freedom of expression, sexual identity and the importance of memory and his roots.
Does it make sense to talk about Lorca at present? To talk about Lorca is to talk about ourselves. And this play seeks to do so honestly and with a sense of performance.
