This is the story of Isabela, of her life and voyages, of the duel between true love represented by Ricaredo, her young lover whose love is unconditional and who travels around the world looking for her, and the less noble feelings of another suitor.
Ships, storms, treasures, magic unicorns, a convent, castles, duels with swords, kings and palaces, poisonings and battles on horseback are the ingredients of this frenetic and amusing play, a free version of the exemplary novel The Spanish-English Lady by our most universal author Miguel de Cervantes.
La Tartana is a company based in Madrid specialised in puppet theatre for children and families. Created in 1977, its artistic work has paid special attention to the social value of theatre, and to the importance of providing collaboration and assistance to other companies and creators. With a creative team constantly investigating and searching for new forms of expression, La Tartana is at the forefront of the puppet theatre genre.
