Based on the story of a group of women imprisoned at the Madrid Ventas prison after the Spanish Civil War, the novel La voz dormida by Dulce Chacón brandishes the banner of dignity and courage as the only weapons possible with which to confront humiliation, torture and death.
An ode in favour of peace, liberty, love, the struggle for life. If you are interested in history and true love; if you are against war and in favour of peace; if you are for liberty, tolerance and life, this play is for you. La voz dormida was awarded the Book of the Year award in 2003 at the Madrid Book Fair by the Madrid Booksellers’ Guild.
