In a flamenco zambomba, Christmas carols are adapted to the different palos, or styles, of flamenco, such as bulerías, tangos, rumbas... The staging, art and passion of the gypsy families, who share their common feelings for the Christmas festivities, are a reflection of an ancestral tradition transformed into joy with the singing and dancing. This is the origin of the flamenco zambomba, of families and neighbours getting together in the working-class neighbourhoods to celebrate their love for the baby Jesus.
