Coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Jorge Pardo’s debut in major festivals back in 1972 in San Sebastian, this concert-gathering is a celebration of his marvellous LECAGY as an essential musician in the creation and development of flamenco jazz and flamenco fusion. For this occasion, Pardo has assembled a spectacular band with a group of musicians that have been a fundamental part of this permanent search and of his legendary musical career.
Few musicians represent Spanish jazz as well as Jorge Pardo. This extraordinary flautist and saxophonist has collaborated with musicians such as Tete Montoliu, Paco de Lucia, Camarón and Chick Corea, to become one of the most powerful voices of European jazz and the most innovative of the flamenco musicians. In addition to this work in solitary, he has participated in numerous records of the so-called new flamencos, such as Ketama and La Barbería del Sur.
Jorge Pardo is the winner of multiple awards, including the French Jazz Academy’s Award for Best European Jazz Musician, the San Sebastian Festival Donostiako Jzaaaldia Award, and the National Award of Actual Music granted by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Culture for the “magisterium and inspiration he embodies for the new generations of musicians.”
