In 2012, Andrea Motis was invited by the composer, arranger, director and producer Quincy Jones to share the stage at the Festival of Peralada; since then she has not ceased to astonish with her freshness and charisma. The young trumpet player, saxophonist and singer from Barcelona made her solo debut with Emotional dance (Impulse! Records, 2017), and in spite of the considerable demands of the jazz scene and apparent “drawback” of her age (she is now 24), she has since succeeded in making a place for herself with absolute command and mastery. This young jazz woman channels her need of self-expression through the trumpet and her unique manner of singing.
On stage she is accompanied by her usual entourage of extraordinary musicians with long successful careers in musical performance and teaching.
