Considered one the greatest talents of opera, with a career that includes performances in the world’s major theatres, Juan Diego Flórez (Lima, 1973) generates ecstatic reactions with his refined vocal technique and dazzling and endless resources. Since the age of 23, when he substituted the legendary American tenor Bruce Ford as Corradino in Matilde di Shabran at the 1966 Rossini Festival in Pésaro, the world’s most important theatres compete to have the Peruvian singer at their venues.
His innumerable awards and acknowledgements include the Abbiati Prize awarded by Italian critics, Rossini ďOro, Tamagno Prize, Opus Klassik, Gran Cruz de la Orden del Sol –the highest distinction granted in Peru–, the title of “Kammersänger” granted by the Austrian Ministry of Cultural Affairs and the State Opera of Vienna, and being declared the best light lyric tenor of all times by Plácido Domingo.
His generosity, charisma and passion also inspire his multiple philanthropic activities.
Nikolas Nägele Conductor
Nikolas Nägele made his debut as Christian Thielemann’s assistant in Die Walküre (Wagner) at the 2017 Salzburg Easter Festival and, in 2018, at the Bayreuther Festspiele with Tristan und Isolde (Wagner). He recently made his debut at the Teatro Communale di Bologna with a new production of L´Italiana in Algeri (Rossini) and at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro with Il viaggio a Reims. His most recent work includes Il matrimonio segreto (Cimarosa) at theTeatro Regio di Torino, Carmen (Bizet) at the Festival Alejandro Granda in Lima, as well symphonic concerts at the Teatro Petruzzeli di Bari and the Teatro Filharmonico di Verona.
