Electra, BNE’s first complete proposal with Antonio Najarro as Director, is a creation by the choreographer Antonio Ruz, in which he uses the different languages of dance to bring to life an original and contemporary vision of the classical tragedy inspired by Spain’s collective imagination.
The action of Electra takes place in 20th century backward rural Spain: a story of destiny and revenge; of damned blood and the quest for liberty.

BNE, which is directed by Antonio Najarro since 2011, is the greatest exponent of Spanish dance, whose shows comprising a large variety of styles ranging from the most traditional to the avant-garde are performed in the best theatres around the world.
